SUMA CHANDER CLAMOURS FOR MORE ECO FASHION TRENDS

NEW YORK FASHION DESIGNER..SUMA CHANDER..GOES ECO FASHION.

SUMA CHANDER has taken bold steps in making sure sustainable fashion or eco fashion comes to stay in present day fashion trends.
Sustainable fashion, also called eco fashion, is a part of the growing design philosophy and trend of sustainability, the goal of which is to create a system which can be supported indefinitely in terms of environmentalism and social responsibility. Sustainable fashion is part of the larger trend of sustainable design where a product is created and produced with consideration to the environmental and social impact it may have throughout its total life span,
including its "carbon footprint". According to the May 2007 Vogue appears not to be a short-term trend but one could last multiple seasons. While environmentalism used to manifest itself in the fashion world through a donation of percentage of sales of a product to a charitable cause, fashion designers are now re-introducing eco-conscious methods at the source through the use of environmentally friendly materials and socially responsible methods of production.
Judging at the rate of global warming, ethical fashion remains a crucial topic in today’s fashion industry. New York-based luxury women’s wear designer Suma Chander expresses and demonstrates support for sustainable fashion through use of natural, raw textiles and repurposed fabrics in her line. In addition, Chander’s line now helps fund a new humanitarian organization, whose aim is to provide access to clean water in developing countries.

Born and bred India, Chander possesses an innate eye and hand for fine fabrics as well as a natural aversion to synthetic fibers, due to its significant carbon footprint. Rather, Chander incorporates raw silks, wools and other natural fibers in her collections of opulent cocktail and evening attire.

The designer also promotes upcycling textiles by sourcing many silks for repurposing in New York, where her studio and production house is based. While working on this upcoming Spring 2013 season, Suma Chander continues to embrace an environmentally friendly and socially responsible philosophy while seeking further opportunities to address ethical issues.

Chander most recently teamed up with her Buddhist teacher, Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche, to launch a new passion project and humanitarian program for developing countries.
She has become a force to reckon with when it comes to sustainable fashion all over the world. With a lot of support from notable personalities, she aspires to go further in her clamour for sustainable fashion.

SUPERSTAR FASHION DESIGNER WALID ATALLAH SOON IN NIGERIA

WORLD ACCLAIMED FASHION DESIGNER—WALID ATALLAH—SET TO VISIT NIGERIA IN SEPTEMBER

Walid Atallah is a Lebanese fashion designer who was born in the City of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. He grew up among a family which is passionate and inspired by beauty and style. He majored in fashion designing from the University of Chicago.
He is highly rated on the international fashion scene and the Arab world for his major feats in fashion. This world acclaimed top designer would be visiting Nigeria very soon courtesy of Best PR Company, a Nigerian-owned public relations outfit based in Dubai, to present his hot collection at the Senator Florence Ita-Giwa Red Ball event in September.

It was in Dubai he started his fashion designing career. Walid Atallah’s star began to rise up through his fascinating designs by mixing the charm of the East with the infancy of the West. He also created prêt-a-porter collection and was the first one to add diamonds in his collection. Walid Atallah designs make every woman desire his outfits and make his designs very irresistible.
He launched his first fashion show in 1996.Top Lebanese celebrity Najwa Karam and top model Nathalie Fadlallah gave the show a colour of spectacle. The show turned into huge success and has been widely accepted in the region and consecutive fashion shows followed in most of the top spots.

Understandably for the guy who caters mostly to the local clientele, his emphasis is on all kinds of fancy embellishments, he's big on crystals.
In one of the interviews in local media he described his design style as "very expensive looking”. I guess, that's one way to put it.

Walid Atallah’s success and fame in Dubai brought him onto the international scene and, in 2007; he launched his “Royalty Collection” in the fashion capital – Rome, Italy which turned into yet another amazing show. Today, he has become visible in Lebanon, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Paris, Bucharest in Romania and New York.

His next stop will be on the Nigerian soil to present his collection to the who is who of Africa’s most fashionable nation courtesy of the Best PR Company owned by Mariam Mohammed Chindo for the Senator Ita-Giwa’s red ball event in September 2012.

An international fashion designer who has bagged international awards from royalties and dignitaries in the fashion world, Walid who recently partnered with British ultra- luxury carmaker, Roll Royce motor cars to create two bespoke models, named “Rolls-Royce Phantom Rayan” and “Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Rayan” will be showcasing his latest designs.
