JOSH SAMUEL EMERGES WINNER OF THE YOUNG DESIGNER OF THE YEAR AT THE MTN LAGOS FASHION WEEK




Josh Samuel has won the young designer of the year award at the Mtn Lagos Fashion and Design Week. Fashion pundits present at the event were actually tipping Josh Samuel to win  the  award because of his works. His designs are breadth-taking for a young designer, according to guest at the event.

The  crown came with a N 4 MILLION NAIRA cash price courtesy of Mtn. The crown also came with a training programme courtesy British Council, a tour of the  London Fashion Week and a three-month concession at La Space and Grey Velvet.

The Young Designer of the year  award is of particular concern to Mtn, British Council and style House  Files to give ongoing support  to young creatives via a platform for presenting their work. With the  Young Designer of the year  award, Mtn and  British  Council offers young fashion designers the opportunity to  be participants at targeted workshops and  seminars facilitated by British Council and a chance to  exhibit their  collection in  front  of a select  audience at Lagos Fashion and Design  Week .

AFRICA'S TOP YOUNG FASHION DESIGNERS HOSTED BY PRINTEX LIMITED GHANA



A group of Africa's top talent in fashion design were hosted by Printex Limited, Ghana.The get-together took place at African Regent Hotel in Accra. The event was organised  to solidify the relationship between Ace Ghana's textile manufacturing company and the country's best fashion design talents.

Vicky Remoe, a business and brand consultant, said that the event was the first in a series to identify mutually beneficial relationships for Printex and local designers. "Printex believes  the local  fashion design and textile industry are interdependent. We believe that Fashion designers decide the trends" , says Remoe.

The fashion designers present at the event are, Nathaniel Nunoo (Nuna couture), Mina Evans (Mina Evans), Brigitte Merki-Ibrahim (Brigitte Merki), Abena and Nana Darkoa Seyiamah (Maksi Clothing), Kennedy Kofi Ansa (Afri-ken), Abena (Sa4a).

Brigitte Merki-Ibrahim said that the opportunity to  launch co-branded advertising campaigns with Printex is just what the market needs.
